New to Westside Fitboxing?

Welcome! Whether you’re ready to punch it out in our Fitboxing classes or build strength and stability in our CorePower+Strength resistance-training sessions, here’s everything you need to know before getting started.

  • Nope. Our Fitboxing classes are designed for all levels—from total first-timers to seasoned punchers. We’ll teach you proper punching and kicking form, combinations, and movement while helping you build strength, endurance, and confidence.

    New to WSFB? We offer free Fitboxing Fundamentals intro sessions to walk you through the basics and get you comfortable on the bag.

    All you need is a great attitude and a willingness to sweat.

  • No. Westside Fitboxing is a fitness studio, not a fight gym.

    There’s no sparring—just technique-focused workouts where it’s you and the heavy bag.

    You’ll learn proper punching and kicking mechanics while getting an intense full-body workout in a supportive, non-intimidating environment.

  • No. Every client trains on their own heavy bag during Fitboxing classes.

    No bag sharing. No crowding. Just powerful, focused training.

  • Yes. Safety is a top priority in every class.

    Fitboxing:
    Gloves, hand wraps, and athletic shoes help protect your hands and joints. There’s no sparring—just controlled heavy-bag work with an emphasis on proper form.

    CorePower+Strength:
    This class focuses on functional strength, mobility, and core stability using bands, weights, and bodyweight movements. Instructors provide modifications for all levels, including those returning from injury.

    We also maintain a clean training environment with disinfectant spray and towels available at every station.

  • Both classes deliver a full-body workout, but they focus on different training styles.

    Fitboxing
    Our signature heavy-bag workout combines boxing, kickboxing, cardio, and interval training. Expect fast-paced combinations, loud music, serious sweat, and major stress relief.

    CorePower+Strength
    This class blends functional strength training with Pilates-inspired control. Using resistance bands, weights, and bodyweight exercises, you’ll build lean muscle, core stability, balance, and posture.

    Many members combine both classes for a balanced training routine.

  • Yes. We intentionally keep classes small so every client receives real coaching and attention.

    Each Fitboxing participant trains on their own heavy bag, and CorePower+Strength classes are also kept small to maximize focus, form, and instruction.

  • Yes. New clients can try their first class free to see if Westside Fitboxing is the right fit.

    It’s a great way to experience the workouts, coaching, and community with no commitment required.

  • For Fitboxing classes bring:

    • Boxing gloves
    • Hand wraps
    • Athletic shoes

    Limited loaner gloves are available, and gloves and wraps can also be purchased at the studio.

    For all classes, we recommend:

    • Comfortable workout clothes
    • A towel
    • A refillable water bottle
    • A yoga mat

    If it’s your first class, please arrive 10 minutes early so we can get you set up and show you the basics on the bag.

    💡 Pro tip: Hydrate before class—you’ll sweat.

  • Yes. Advance booking is required to reserve your spot.

    You can sign up through our website or visit our Punchpass booking page.

    If it’s your first visit, you’ll create a quick account, log in, purchase a pass or plan, and reserve your spot.

  • If you can’t attend a class, please cancel your reservation at least 1 hour before the scheduled start time.

    Late cancellations (under 1 hour) or no-shows will result in the class being deducted from your pass or charged according to your membership.

    This policy helps keep spots available for other members.

  • Westside Fitboxing is located on Santa Cruz’s Westside on the second floor of the iconic Wrigley Building.

    You’ll find us:

    • Across from the Westside Farmers Market
    • Next to Santa Cruz Bicycles
    • Just down the hill from UCSC

    Parking is available in the lot across the street and nearby street parking—no permit required.

    Important arrival note:
    Our main entrance is currently under construction. Please enter through the door to the left of Santa Cruz Bicycles next to the loading dock. Follow the WSFB signage upstairs to the studio
