No boxing, kickboxing, or martial arts experience needed. Our instructors teach proper punching and kicking technique, combinations, and movement from the ground up.
If you're brand new, we offer free Fitboxing Fundamentals intro sessions to get you comfortable on the bag before jumping into a regular class.
Fitboxing is a challenging workout, and a baseline level of fitness helps — but you don't need to know how to throw a punch to get started.
No and no. Westside Fitboxing is a fitness studio, not a fight gym. There's no sparring — just technique-focused, heavy-bag training in a supportive, non-intimidating environment.
Every client trains on their own heavy bag. No sharing, no crowding.
Yes. Both classes prioritize form and safety. Instructors provide modifications for all levels, including those returning from injury. If you're working around something, let your instructor know before class.
For Fitboxing specifically, gloves, hand wraps, and athletic shoes are required to protect your hands and joints.
We maintain a clean training environment — cleaning spray is available to wipe down mats, bags, and equipment after use.
For Fitboxing: boxing gloves, hand wraps, and athletic shoes. Limited loaner gloves are available at the studio, and gloves and wraps can also be purchased there.
For CorePower+Strength: comfortable workout clothes, a yoga mat, and a water bottle.
For all classes: arrive hydrated. You'll sweat.
If it's your first visit, please arrive 10 minutes early so we can get you set up.
Advance booking is required. Visit our Classes & Schedule page to view the schedule and reserve your spot.
If you can't make it, cancel at least 1 hour before class starts. Late cancellations and no-shows will result in the class being deducted from your pass or charged to your membership.
Drop-in classes start at $25. We also offer 5- and 10-class passes and an unlimited monthly membership depending on how often you train.

Westside Fitboxing is on Santa Cruz's Westside, on the second floor of the Wrigley Building — across from the Westside Farmers Market, next to Santa Cruz Bicycles, and just down the hill from UCSC. Parking is available in the lot across the street and on nearby streets, no permit required.
Heads up: Our main entrance is currently under construction. Please enter through the door to the left of Santa Cruz Bicycles, next to the loading dock, and follow the WSFB signage upstairs.
